Project Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project, carried out on a sixteenth-century building, provided for the consolidation of floors (in wooden structure) of the first and second floor in order to recover spaces and transform them into classrooms-laboratories for primary and secondary schools. A preliminary investigation, with non-destructive tests on the structures of the building, was carried out to establish the type of load-bearing walls and floors. For the structural consolidation intervention, the solution of mixed wood-concrete floors was chosen: the wooden beams were recovered and consolidated with a reinforced concrete slab, made over the board and structurally connected to the beams using metal connectors that create a wood-concrete connection of a deformable type.
