PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Protected by UNESCO, Villa of Poggio Imperiale is one few Medici family Villas open to the public as a Museum. Belonged at the beginning to Baroncelli family, the villa passed to the Medici during the ‘500 and further donated by Cosimo I to his daughter Isabella in 1565.
Since 1865 Villa of Poggio Imperiale has been the seat of the State Institute of Santissima Annunziata, one of the first female boarding school in Europe. Inside it, there are the first level secondary school and the classical European, Scientific, Linguistic high schools of the Province of Florence.
The project involved general plant overhauling and upgrading of the premises both, including the design of the wastewater disposal plant and the fire prevention project, extraordinary maintenance of some rooms, specific restoration works of wooden parts, vaults, decorated surfaces, as well as architectural design for the new use of the farmhouse of the Podere Palazzo.
